The Cardinal has played well this season and brings a conference record of 17-7 and an overall record of 42-12 into the tournament. The team took on No. 25 Oregon in the final conference series and won the first two games before the Ducks put a spot to their four game win streak with a 1-0 win. Both teams only had two hits in the game and Oregon’s lone run came through on a fielder’s choice when Aly Kaneshiro threw to second to tag out a runner attempting to steal causing the game-winning run to come home. Regan Krause took the loss, her fifth of the season, after 3.2 innings of pitching in which she struck out three batters.
When Stanford and Cal met during regular season play, the Cardinal swept the Bears easily. The winner of this game will go on to play either Utah or Oregon.
