The first day of action for the men in the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships begins with the best track and field athletes in the country on Wednesday.

The NCAA Outdoor Championships in track and field gets started for the men with the first day of action on Wednesday. This tournament is a four day event hosted by the University of Oregon on Hayward Field, showcasing the best track and field athletes in the country. The men are up first with the first day of competition starting off with the decathlon to kick-off the NCAA Outdoor Championship. In the decathlon the athletes compete in 10 total events showcasing endurance, skill and the ability to succeed across a multitude of disciplines. After the decathlon the men will compete in 20 more total events in track and field from the 100 meter dash to the pole vault.

Heading into the first day of action in the NCAA Outdoor Championships some favorites are starting to emerge after preliminary events and initial heats. USC senior Taylor Banks and Iowa Junior Kalen Walker are favorites in the 100 meter dash after posting times of 9.91 and 9.94 respectively in their heats.

Also featured in the NCAA Outdoor Championships are running events in the 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, 1500 meter, 5000 meter, 10000 meter, 110-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 3000-meter steeplechase, 4×100-meter relay and the 4×400-meter relay.

The field events include the long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw and the hammer throw. Tune in all week for the four-day tournament featuring the best men and women in college track and field.
