Saturday will see some of the best college athletes in the nation take to the track for various events, but perhaps the most exciting will be the 4×400 meter relay and the college men’s 4×100 meter relay. Last year’s 4×400 champions were the Mustangs of Houston with a time of 3:27.32 and the team will look to defend that title this season. Arkansas has the fastest time in the country this season in the event at 3:23.69, but it does not appear that the Razorbacks will be making an appearance at Franklin Field.

In the men’s college 4×100 meter relay, the top time of the season came from the University of Kentucky after the team ran a 38.43 last weekend at the Tom Jones Memorial Invite at Florida. The foursome of Shavique Bascus, Clinton Muunga, Miles Jones and Carlie Makarawu posted a new school record with the time, but will not be competing at Penn Relays. Instead, Kentucky will go to Drake relays so the top spot for the 4×100 meter relay could go to any number of other talented teams.

Tune in on Saturday afternoon to see some of the best track and field athletes from middle schoolers to masters runners as they take to Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
