Saturday features the first round matches, the quarterfinals, and wrestlebacks to get the tournament started. That is followed by the consolation matches and more wrestlebacks. In the third session of the day, the semifinals, will set the stage for Sunday’s championship matches.

The Big Ten features three weight classes with the top two wrestlers in the country. In 125 lbs. Lilledahl (17-0) is on a collision course with Ohio State’s Nic Bouzakis (12-1), same for Illinois’ Lucas Byrd (17-0) and Blaze (19-0) in 133 lbs., and Mesenbrink (19-0) and Iowa’s Michael Caliendo in 165 lbs.

There are four other weight classes with two of the top three wrestlers in the country in 141, 157, 174, and 184 lbs. That gives the Big Ten Tournament the potential for seven of the 10 championship matches to feature two of the top three wrestlers in the country.
