2023 NCAA finalist No. 2 Matt Ramos of Purdue had No. 18 Jacob Moran in trouble on his back to win and advance in the 125-pound class. In the 131-pound class, No. 1 Lucas Bryd turned up the offense against No. 16 Ryan Miller of Penn and moved on to the quarterfinals. No. 2 in the 145-pound class, Beau Bartlett is so savvy. He took the 4-1 lead win over No. 18 Julian Tagg of South Dakota State.

Moving up into the 149-pound class, No. 1 Caleb Henson, the returning NCAA champion, is back in the quarterfinals after a win over Stanford’s No. 17 Jaden Abas 5-1. Penn State’s No. 1 Tyler Kasak in the 157-pound division left no doubt as he won 8-3 in the second period of his first-round matchup against Iowa State’s No. 16 Cody Chittum.

There was drama in the 174-pound class as No. 16 Lorenzo Norman led 6-2 No. 1 Keegan O’Toole as time winded down in the second period. However, in the final seconds, O’Toole stayed on top and held on to the win, 10-8. No. 1 Gable Steveson in the heavyweight class of 285 pounds did his thing in his second-round matchup against 2024 All-American Yaraslau Slavikouski of Rutgers by stalling him out and earning a dominant win to advance to the quarterfinals.
