The fourth place finish gave Seattle a spot directly in the first round of the 2024 MLS postseason. There, the team was put against the Houston Dynamo to compete in a three-game series.

In Game 1, the two clubs tied 0-0. Since there must be a winner, the match went on to penalty kicks, where the Sounders came away with a 5-4 advantage to take the victory.

Then, Seattle and Houston drew again in Game 2, this time with a 1-1 scoreline. The match once again went on to penalty kicks, where the Sounders this time took a 7-6 advantage into the Western Conference semifinals.

Seattle then came away with a dramatic 2-1 extra time win over Los Angeles FC in the conference semifinals thanks to goals from Maxime Chanot (own goal) and Jordan Morris.

Finally, the Sounders lost 1-0 to the eventual MLS Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy in the Western Conference finals.
