India is the defending champion after winning the first U-19 T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2023. For Scotland, this tournament marks its first qualification into the Super Six after a 13th-place finish two years ago.

India elected to field on Sunday and was able to easily chase down Bangladesh, winning by eight wickets 66/2-64/8. Vaishnavi Sharma’s 3-15 performance in her four overs of bowling earned her player of the match honors, with Trisha Gongadi providing 40 runs on 31 balls to power the attack. Gongadi is second in the tournament with 120 runs in four matches while Sharma’s nine wickets in three appearances shares the tournament lead.

Scotland earned a single point on Saturday when rain forced the abandonment of its match with Sri Lanka. Pippa Sproul leads the batters for the Scots with 81 runs in three matches and Maisie Maceira has taken seven wickets in three matches.

While India was an automatic qualifier for this year’s World Cup, Scotland went through regional qualifying, winning a three-match series with Netherlands in August to earn its spot in the field.
