Guyana was last on the oval on Friday night, opening its schedule with a three-wicket victory over the Antigua & Barbuba Falcons at North Sound, Antigua. Veteran Shai Hope paced the Amazon Warriors with 41 runs, while Romario Shepherd added 32, including four 6s. Shepherd also excelled as a bowler, allowing just 13 runs in his three overs.

The Patriots look to stop a two-match skid after a victory in their opener, coming off a five-wicket loss at home to the Saint Lucia Kings on Sunday. Evin Lewis and Kyle Mayers dominated at the bat, with Lewis finishing with 100 runs, nine 6s and 7 4s, while Mayers added 92 runs, including seven 6s and six 4s. But their bowlers struggled, with Anrich Nortje’s 7.25-runs per over rate the best of the six bowlers on Sunday.

The Amazon Warriors have made the postseason in all 11 previous seasons in the CPL and reached the final in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019 without success before their breakthrough win over the Trinbago Knight Riders in last year’s final. St. Kitts & Nevis joined the CPL in 2015, replacing the Antigua Hawksbills, and have just four postseason berths in that span, winning the title in 2021 and losing in the final in 2017.
