The Guyana Amazon Warriors, without injured captain Imran Tahir, visit the Trinbago Knight Riders in a rematch of the 2023 CPL final on Wednesday.
On Wednesday night, the Guyana Amazon Warriors (3-1, 6 points) visit the Trinbago Knight Riders (3-1, 6 points) for the first time since the Amazon Warriors claimed their first Caribbean Premier League T20 title a year ago by beating Trinbago in the final. Guyana will be without captain Imran Tahir for a second straight match. The 45-year-old Tahir, the oldest player in the CPL, is out for at least 10 days with an injury and Shai Hope will act as captain in his stead. The Knight Riders, meanwhile, brought back bowler Chris Jordan to replace Ali Khan, who has missed the entire season with an injury.

Trinbago comes off a two-wicket road victory over the Barbados Royals on Friday, 159-8 to 156-7. Shaqkere Parris and Nicholas Pooran each scored 35 runs, with Keacy Carty adding 32 at a 152.38 strike rate. Waqar Salamkheil hit three wickets and turned in a 3.25 economy rate in his four overs of bowling.
The Amazon Warriors lost at Barbados on Saturday, taking a 32-run pounding, 205-6 to 173-5. Hope paced Guyana with 40 runs and Moeen Ali added 33 at a 173.68 strike rate. Dwaine Pretorius hit two wickets while allowing a 6.75 economy rate in four overs. Raymon Reifer hit three wickets in the loss.
Carty leads the Knight Riders with 154 runs in four matches with Pooran close behind at 149. Sunil Narine leads the CPL with a 5.31 economy rate and Salamkheil tops the club with nine wickets.
Shimron Hetmyer’s 146 runs tops the Amazon Warriors with Rahmanullah Gurbaz next with 136, but Gurbaz is playing for Afghanistan this week in an ODI series against South Africa. Gudakesh Motie leads the club with a 7.04 economy rate and nine wickets.
