The Atlanta offense took full advantage of its pitchers blanking Houston, with six runs in each of the two wins. In the first game Atlanta created runs with singles, ground outs and team baseball, then followed that up with runs on three extra base hits, including a solo home run from Orlando Arcia in the first inning.
On the mound today to try and complete the three-game series sweep for Atlanta is left-handed veteran Max Fried (1-0). So far this season Fried has started three games, but only has 10 strikeouts in 11.1 total innings pitched. He has improved throughout the season after being off his game to start the season and then getting rocked in his second start.
For Houston, veteran right-hander J.P. France (0-2) looks to get his team back in the win column. In his first three starts of the season France has given up 14 total earned runs with just 12 strikeouts in 14.2 innings pitched.
