CBS brings us a musical special in the premiere of The 100th: Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET. The March 28 show is Billy Joel’s first concert to air on a broadcast network. Joel has sold out Madison Square Garden more than any other artist. Since his first show at the venue on Dec. 14, 1978, through his final residency show this July, every one of Joel’s concerts at Madison Square Garden have been sold out. The TV special is a co-production of Sony Music Entertainment and Enliven Entertainment. Steve Cohen, Barry Ehrmann and Paul Dugdale are executive producers. Director is Emmy Award recipient Paul Dugdale. Sony Music Vision is the distributor.

“After 10 years, we’ve done it,” Joel previously told PEOPLE at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) in 2023 of his achievement. “I mean, I didn’t realize it would last 10 years.”
“And I don’t know how many shows it is, I’m sure somebody’s keeping track of it somewhere, but I’m amazed that we went this far, and I’m honored,” he added.
The 100th: Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden — The Greatest Arena Run of All Time will air on April 14 from 9 to 11 p.m. EST on CBS.
