After isolating himself for months and months, Isherwood Williams comes out to find that most of the world that he knew has succumbed to an illness. Civilization as he knew it is gone. People are gone. Against his better judgement Isherwood decides to explore and try to find a way to build up this new world in Earth Abides. On Sunday in the season premiere of Earth Abides, Isherwood, who sets out to see if he is alone in the world, meets a few new characters along the way. What will Isherwood find in his journey to build back civilization with hope and the survivors of this mystery illness?

The season premiere episode of Earth Abides, “Alone” sees what led to Isherwood’s isolation for months as the world fell to this illness. He comes out to the world ravaged, with very few survivors that he starts to meet as he explores the new world order.

Earth Abides co-stars Jessica Frances Dukes as Emma, Leah Gibson as Ann, Leah Belle MacDonald as Heather and Martin Donovan as an unnamed character in the pilot episode. The rest of the series will also see Aaron Tveit as Charlie, Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll as Jorge, Elyse Levesque as Maurine, Luisa D’Oliveira as Molly, Birkett Turton as Ezra, Hilary McCormack as Jean and Jenna Berman as Evie.

This series is based on the George R. Stewart book series of the same name. The series features Part I: World Without End, Part II: The Year 22 and Part III: The Last American.
