An all-new comedy is coming to FX on Monday night with the series premiere of English Teacher.
Brian Jordan Alvarez will head up a strong cast in FX’s new comedy drama titled English Teacher premiering Monday night at 10 p.m. ET. Alvarez plays Evan Marquez, a high school English teacher in Austin, Texas who often finds himself at a crossroads between personal, professional and political aspects of working at a high school. Enrico Colantoni, best known for playing Keith Mars in the hit show Veronica Mars, will play Principal Moretti, while Sean Patton will take on Markie Hillridge, the gym teacher and athletic director at Morrison-Hensley High.

In a world that seems to be changing quicker than Marquez can keep up with, he often gets frustrated trying to balance the demands of students and their parents as accountability and entitlement seem to be the most visible traits amongst his high school students.
In addition to Alvarez, Colantoni and Patton, the show is stacked with comedic talent such as Stephanie Koenig, Savanna Gann andLangston Kerman among others who help to pull together a strong storyline that viewers will be able to resonate with as a professional, a parent or a former high school student.
Over this eight-episode series, viewers will be able to follow Evan Marquez as he navigates his relationships with students, fellow faculty members and with individuals in his personal life. He struggles with whether or not anyone is able to be their true, authentic self in their place of work.
