The season four premiere of the hit STARZ series Power Book III: Raising Kanan continues the story on Friday.

The crime-drama Power Book III: Raising Kanan is back for a fourth season on Friday. This series follows the story of Kanan Stark, played by Mekai Curtis, continuing the story of Power as a prequel. Kanan continues his story to get out of his mother’s shadow and break through as the leader who runs the streets. Patina Miller returns as Raquel “Raq” Thomas, Kanan’s mother and one of the major drug lords in New York. Those two work together and cross paths as Kanan tries to create his legacy and Raq tries to keep what she already controls in Power Book III: raising Kanan.

This series is a prequel to the hit STARZ series Power, created by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson that tells the story of Kanan as a friend and rival of Ghost, the power broker in the future. All of the events in this series lead up to the original series, connecting the dots and filling in the lore.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan also features supporting roles from London Brown as Marvin Thomas, Malcolm Mays as Louis “Lou-Lou” Thomas, Joey Bada$$ as Kadeem “Unique” Mathis, and several others in this loaded cast of characters.

Chris Redd, best known for his time on Saturday Night Live, joins the cast in season four as Early Tyler. In previous seasons Tony Danza and Wendell Pierce have played supporting roles, as well as Stefano Marchetti and Ishmael “Snaps” Henry through the first three seasons of the series. Tune in all season to continue Kanan’s story leading up to the events of Power.
