The CW is set to air the premiere of Scrabble on Thursday night.

Scrabble is set to air on The CW on Thursday night, with the game show coming from Hasbro Entertainment, Lionsgate Alternative Entertainment, which acquired the eOne assets from Hasbro last year and The CW. Scrabble is also produced by Mattel Television Studios. Scrabble debuts alongside another game show adapted from a board game, Trivial Pursuit. Both games have been adapted for the screen before. Freeform precursor The Family Channel ran a Trivial Pursuit series hosted by Wink Martindale from 1993-94 that was loosely based on the game, while a syndicated version, Trivial Pursuit: America Plays, ran from 2008-09.

Meanwhile, Scrabble ran on NBC from 1984-90 and again in 1993. A different version, Scrabble Showdown, launched in 2011 on The Hub, the Hasbro and Warner Bros joint venture.

The CW’s unscripted slate currently included FBoy Island and FGirl Island, as well as The Great American Bakeover, The Force from Jersey Shore creator SallyAnn Salsano, and Patti Stanger: Millionaire Matchmaking.

This is on top of long-running shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Masters of Illusion.

The series is hosted by Raven Symoné, who is famous for being on shows such as That’s So Raven and The Cheetah Girls. The debut episode of Scrabble will see a wrestling announcer battle it out in the Scrabble squared circle, looking to create the best words and take home the lettered belt and $10,000.
