Chicago Wednesdays will come to a close this week with the Season 12 finale of Chicago P.D. at 10 p.m. ET.

Chicago P.D. will round out the finales in the 10 p.m. slot with the season 12 finale on Wednesday night. Chicago P.D.’s Intelligence unit is led by Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) as it investigates some of the worst crimes in the city. From drug trafficking, organized crimes, brutal murders and kidnappings to other large-scale felonies like bank robberies, Intelligence is there to get to the bottom of each and every case to come across their desks. The squad, made up of Voight, Trudy Platt (Amy Morton), Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger), Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) and Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), is committed to protecting the city and seeking truth, but the team struggles to maintain peace in the community amidst an intense political climate. Voight must learn to adapt and embrace new tactics to crack down on crime in the city he loves.

Season 12 began a month after Voight had a close call with death. He returned to work full-time, but struggled with finding the balance between handling his cases and having a life outside of the squad room. As the season progressed, Voight found himself being blackmailed by Deputy Chief of Police Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy) as he learned one of the Intelligence Unit’s officers had an affair with a confidential informant.

At the end of the penultimate season 12 episode, fans saw Officer Torres arrested for that inappropriate relationship with his C.I., while Detective Kim Burgess was stripped of her badge for knowing about the relationship and not reporting it. As Voight continues to try and take down Reid for being a dirty cop, the Intelligence unit was disbanded.

The season 12 finale titled “Vows” will follow the internal investigation into Voight’s Intelligence Unit while Intelligence goes off-book to bring down Reid and get Torres and Burgess reinstated. With the uncertainty of the Internal Affairs investigation, Officers Ruzek and Burgess consider delaying their wedding.
