The first episode, “The Wave,” starts the docuseries where the tsunami began, with an earthquake in the Indian Ocean. That started the chain of events sending a tsunami first to the coast of Aceh, Indonesia and then all over the region.

This docuseries takes a deep, intimate look at the citizens of the regions impacted by the tsunami, the tourists trying to survive and the scientists that worked around the clock to find solutions. Tsunami: Race Against Time has been described as a thriller rather than a traditional documentary with how the filmmakers tell the story of this weather event with real footage.

Tsunami: Race Against Time is directed by Daniel Bogado, the award winning director of the National Geographic documentary 9/11: One Day in America. Tune in for all four episodes starting with “The Wave” and “Thailand,” followed by the final two episodes, “Breaking News” and “Rescue.”
