Players battle for spots in the DP World Tour Playoffs at Le Golf National in the Paris suburbs on Thursday.

The FedEx Open de France returns to Le Golf National in Guyancourt, France, just southwest of central Paris on Thursday, with just three events remaining on the DP World Tour season before the playoffs begin. The top 70 players on the Race to Dubai rankings qualify for the postseason, with five-time champion Rory McIlroy leading the standings in pursuit of his third straight title, something not done since Colin Montgomerie’s run of seven straight tour championships from 1993-99. McIlroy is not in the field this week, with No. 2 Thriston Lawrence the top player on the list in Paris this weekend.

It is the second premier event at Le Golf National this year after it hosted the Olympic golf tournament in August. Tommy Fleetwood, currently fifth on the Race to Dubai list and the silver medalist behind Scottie Scheffler at the Olympics, did not return to Paris.

The Højgaard twins, Rasmus and Nicolai, are both competing this weekend. They each own a share of the course record at Le Golf National of 62. Rasmus shot a 62 during a second-place run in 2022, while Nicolai’s 62 came during the Olympics. Defending champion Ryo Hisatsune now plays on the PGA Tour and is not in Paris this weekend.

In the European Tour era, Seve Ballesteros holds the record of four victories in the event, winning in 1977, 1982 and 1985-86. None of those came at Le Golf National, which hosted its first Open de France in 1991, the year after it opened.
