Colombia will travel to Brazil on Thursday having lost each of its last two 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

Brazil will leap back in front of Colombia in the race to qualify for the 2026 World Cup provided it beats La Tricolor at the Arena BRB Mane Garrincha in Brasilia on Thursday evening. Both teams have failed to win either of their last two qualifying matchups, though Brazil’s form at least appears to be on an upward curve after a dismal stretch of results towards the back end of 2023. And it was amid that barren run that Colombia managed to overcome the Selecao in the reverse of this fixture, emerging as a 2-1 victor in Barranquilla to mark its first win over Brazil since 2015.

Colombia coach remains undefeated against Brazil in two attempts as a head coach, having also drawn 1-1 against the South American giants when they faced off in last year’s Copa América.

The stakes are a lot higher this time around, however, as the Coffee Growers sit fourth in CONMEBOL qualifying on 19 points, a single point ahead of Brazil in fifth place.

It was during the group stage of the 2024 Copa América that Colombia came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Dorival Junior’s side en route to topping their pool.

Brazil failed to hold onto its lead as a half-time leveller from Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz  secured a 1-1 draw for Colombia the last time these countries faced off:

More than 15 years have passed since Brazil last failed to beat Colombia in three consecutive meetings, never mind losing twice to this foe in such quick succession.

Brazil was close to having Neymar back after a 17-month lay-off, but injury has since forced the Santos star to withdraw as Real Madrid forward Endrick comes in as his replacement.

Meanwhile, Jhon Duran has retained his spot for Colombia after a prolific run since moving to Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr, while captain James Rodriguez will hope to keep having an impact on the international scale.
