Estonia hosts Norway on Monday as the teams embark on 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying play.

Estonia hosts Norway at Tallinn’s A. Le Coq Arena on Monday as Group I play continues for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying. Estonia has been inconsistent so far, which has the team sitting in third place in the group standings with a record of 1-0-2 for a total of three points under manager Jürgen Henn. Since June 2024, the team has managed just two wins, including a narrow 3‑2 away victory over Moldova, but has lost six matches. While the team has produced well offensively, scoring five goals in three matches, the defense is disorganized and lacks communication. The lineup for Monday’s match should not surprise anyone as Karol Mets remains sidelined, but Rocco Robert Shein will return, while Erko Tõugjas earns a call-up following strong domestic form.

Norway, led by Ståle Solbakken, looks intimidating. The team tops the group with three straight wins and a dominant 12–2 goal tally. Boosted by a 3‑0 home victory over Italy on June 6, Norway has built momentum and remains unbeaten in a strong group which also includes Israel, Italy and Moldova. Star striker Erling Haaland leads the attack alongside players like Alexander Sørloth and Antonio Nusa. Defenders Erik Botheim and Stian Gregersen are sidelined, but depth in the squad will make it easy to have others step into those roles for as long as Solbakken needs.

Estonia is expected to set up in a compact 4‑2‑3‑1 to pack in the defense and deny scoring opportunities. Norway’s fluid and more traditional 4‑3‑3 should provide plenty of creativity and opportunities to get forward while also dominating possession.

Norway is heavily favored for Monday’s game as Estonia has been struggling defensively, but if Estonia can put one on the board early and defend for their lives, there is a slight chance to pick up three points.
