North Macedonia looks to clinch a spot in the next round of the UEFA World Cup Qualifying when it plays Kazakhstan on Monday.

North Macedonia wraps up Group J play on Monday when it takes on Kazakhstan. North Macedonia currently sits in second place in Group J with five points. It is two points back of first place Wales and two points up on Kazakhstan in the standings. With a win on Monday North Macedonia will have eight points and will finish at worst in second place and will advance to the next stage. In its last match on Friday it played to a 1-1 draw with Belgium. It was its second straight draw, as it also played Wales to a 1-1 tie.

In its first match of Group J it beat Liechtenstein 3-0 back on March 22. Aleksandar Trajkovski, Bisar Musliu and Bojan Miovski all scored in the win over Liechstenstein. In its match with Wales, Miovski scored in the first minute of stoppage time, but Wales answered back five minutes later to get the draw. In its match against Belgium, it trailed late by a goal, but Ezgjan Alioski scored in the 86th minute to get the draw.

Kazakhstan will be playing its third match in Group J and it is currently 1-0-1 with three points.

It is in third place and can jump ahead of North Macedonia with a win on Monday. Kazakhstan could still finish first in the group, but it needs to win its last two matches and have Wales lose its last match.

Kazakhstan lost its match against Wales back on March 22 by a score of 3-1. It had the match tied at halftime, but gave up two goals in the second half to lose.

In its second match it shutout Liechtenstein in a 2-0 win. Maxim Samorodov scored the game-winner in the 42nd minute and Aleksandr Marochkin scored three minutes later to give them an insurance goal.
