So here's the not so great numbers for Florida State. Notre Dame has outscored its last two opponents 79-13. It doesn't look like the Seminoles will avoid a similar fate against the Fighting Irish. Storied programs like Texas, Nebraska, USC, Notre Dame, heck even Alabama before Nick Saban, all have experienced lulls in the past two decades. Maybe it's just Florida State's turn.
The were beat by a bad Georgia Tech team and blown out by their biggest rival Miami. Sorry blown out is an understatement. Maybe a tire falling off of the car would better sum up the 52-10 drubbing. Their only win is against Jacksonville State who at one point in the game were leading by two touchdowns. But enough piling on Florida State.
A big part of that comeback against Jacksonville State was quarterback Jordan Travis. He took over at half for and threw for more than two hundred yards with a score and nearly 50 yards rushing with another touchdown on the ground. He will be the Seminoles third QB to start this season. A win on Saturday for FSU will come if they can solidify Travis as the starting quarterback. He'll get his first start to prove himself against Notre Dame.

The Seminoles face a Notre Dame team that hasn't played in three weeks because a COVID-19 outbreak among the team. They did not play their game against Wake Forest that is rescheduled for December 12. If the Seminoles have any window to make this game close it's because the Fighting Irish haven't been on the field in some time. Brian Kelly's teams are rarely unprepared and they'll look to continue their dominating ways. Even though still a huge uphill battle, Miami and Notre Dame may be the only teams that can slow down Clemson from winning the ACC Championship. Not bad for the Fighting Irish football team who are playing their first season in the conference.
This Irish are headlined by quarterback Ian Book but their offense is successful because it is incredibly balanced. In their first two games, the Irish are averaging 206 passing yards per game and rushed on average for 229. Running Back Kyren Williams is a great compliment to Book as he had a breakout game against Duke with 112 yards and two scores. That performance earned him the ACC Running Back of the Week Award in Week 1. The Irish have won 20 games in a row at home. That's not about to change on Saturday.
