Their only win this season came against Sandia in the team’s first game, 28-7 on the road. Since then, they have lost seven straight games, including three district games. They lost at home against Bloomfield 47-34 and Durango 17-6. They lost to Alamogordo 36-35 in double overtime on the road before Canyon 44-30 on the road. They opened district play against Volcano Vista 48-7 at home before Rio Rancho 36-33 on the road. Their last game ended in a massive 54-0 shutout at home against Cleveland for their seventh loss. Senior running back Brig Keiser has been dominant this season with 971 yards and nine touchdowns this year.

The Cougars of Cibola are 2-6 overall this season and are also 0-3 against teams from their district. They are the No. 31 ranked team in the state. They opened the season with a 20-17 overtime win on the road against Albuquerque before losing at home against Sandia 37-7. They lost two games on the road 27-20 against Eldorado and Carlsbad 35-6 fore winning their second game.

They were able to get the best of Clovis at home 36-12 before losing three straight heading into this week. They lost on the road to Rio Rancho 28-0 before losing at home 55-0 against Cleveland. Their last game ended in a 37-0 loss on the road to Farmington. They have yet to score a point against a district opponent.
