After a wild quarterfinal road win last week, Reno takes on top-seeded Bishop Manogue in a semifinal matchup on Friday

Reno (4-5) has won its last two games to reach the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Division II Northern League semifinals, where they take on top-seeded Bishop Manogue (7-3) at Bishop Manogue Stadium in Reno on Friday night. The Miners have five straight games and come off a bye last week as the No. 1 seed after finishing 5-0 in the league. The Huskies were just 1-4, picking up their lone league win over McQueen on Oct. 25 before going on the road for a quarterfinal victory in the playoffs.

Reno junior quarterback Braylon Wilson scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the game with 19 seconds left and Owen Simeral booted the extra point to lift the Huskies to a 42-41 win at Douglas on Nov. 1. Wilson finished 165 yards on 25 carries while also completing 15 of 18 passes for 133 yards and a score. Jackson Mathews rolled for 114 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown and Chase Langbehn had a TD reception.

Bishop Manogue wrapped up an unbeaten league season with a 48-24 win at Douglas on Oct. 24. Pete Masina ran for 176 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries, Brandon Mann was 21-of-27 passing for 287 yards and a score and Nathan Shannon added a rushing touchdown in the win. Dulin Hukari made a touchdown catch as well.

The teams met at Bishop Manogue on Oct. 18, with the Miners taking a 48-26 victory. Mann has thrown for 2,023 yards with 24 touchdowns and five interceptions for Manogue while Masina has 777 rushing yards and 12 scores. Hukari has caught seven TD passes and freshman Demari Stacker has 51 catches for 574 yards and four scores.

For Reno, Wilson has thrown for 1,864 yards with 18 TDs and four interceptions and also run for team-highs of 617 yards and eight touchdowns. Dawson Planeta leads the Huskies with 47 catches, 610 receiving yards and seven touchdown receptions.
