How to Watch Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Practice 1: Stream Formula 1 Live, TV Channel

Formula 1 returns to Imola for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix after a one-year hiatus caused by heavy flooding in Northern Italy last year.

After losing last year’s visit to Northern Italy’s iconic Imola circuit to heavy spring flooding in the region, Formula 1 returns to the iconic track — officially known as Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari — this weekend. F1 received a shakeup two weeks ago as McLaren’s Lando Norris roared to his first career victory in Miami, ending the three-time defending world champion’s reign as the lone winner at the event. The Imola circuit opened in 1950 and hosted F1 from 1980-2006 before returning initially as a one-off event during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic before its addition to the regular schedule the following year.

One of the first things fans notice about Imola is that drivers go the wrong way. The track is one of the few counter-clockwise circuits in the world, a fast thrill ride covering 3.050 miles with 19 turns. Named initially for Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari in 1957, his son Alfredo “Dino” Ferrari joined him in memorium in 1989.

Since its return to the F1 circuit, Verstappen won the race in both 2021 and 2022 after Lewis Hamilton topped the podium after its 2020 return. The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix covers 192.034 miles over 63 laps. The old-school feel of the route includes iconic corners such as the Acque Minerali and Piratella.

After his second-place run in Miami, Verstappen holds a 33-point lead in the driver standings over Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez and leads Charles Leclerc of Ferrari by 38 points. Norris and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz share fourth place, 53 points back.
