McLaren locks out the front row as it chases the constructor title in the final F1 race of the season. Watch live on Fubo.

McLaren put both of its drivers on the front row for Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final Formula 1 race of the season, as it tries to capture its first constructors championship since 1998. Lando Norris captured the pole position for the race and will start with teammate Oscar Piastri outside him on the Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. McLaren arrived in the United Arab Emirates with a 21-point lead over Ferrari, which starts with Carlos Sainz in the third position on the grid but with Charles Leclerc in 14th after a Q2 washout on Saturday.

Sunday also marks the final ride for Lewis Hamilton with Mercedes, as he will move to Ferrari next season to end 12 historic seasons with the team that included 84 race victories and six world championships.

Max Verstappen clinched his fourth straight F1 drivers championship with a fifth-place finish at Las Vegas two weeks ago and then rolled to a surprising win in Qatar last weekend. Norris needs to finish at least seven points ahead of Leclerc to lock up second place in the standings.

The Yas Marina Circuit opened in 2009 and was modified in 2021 to its present configuration of 16 turns over a 3.281-mile course. Hamilton has won a record five times in Abu Dhabi with Verstappen’s current run of four straight wins second. Another potential for excitement is Verstappen’s battle with Mercedes’ George Russell, who had a confrontation in the steward’s tent in Qatar last week and start the race two positions apart, with Verstappen fourth and Russell directly behind him in sixth.
