The Shanghai International Circuit, which opened in 2004, returned as an F1 venue last year after the race was run from 2004-19. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, the four-time defending world champion, won last year’s return race in Shanghai while Hamilton has won a record six times in China, most recently in 2019.

Hamilton left Mercedes for Ferrari after last season and finished 10th in Australia in his debut with his new team. He is the all-time F1 leader with 105 wins, 104 pole positions and 202 podium finish and shares the record of seven world championships with Michael Schumacher.
