Max Verstappen leads the Formula 1 field into the Singapore Grand Prix after back-to-back wins.

The 18th race of the Formula 1 season heads to the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the Singapore Grand Prix. Heading into this race, Oscar Piastri leads all drivers with 324 points, but Max Verstappen has become the story again over the last two races. The four-time champion has won back-to-back races to close the gap on the leaderboard. He is now just 69 points behind Piastri for the series lead and 44 points behind Lando Norris for second place. There are just seven races left in the Formula 1 season, counting the Singapore Grand Prix, with the Driver’s Championship very much up for grabs.

Before Verstappen won back-to-back races, he spent eight weeks watching Piastri and Norris split seven wins. This season, Verstappen has four total wins and four second-place finishes to keep in the mix for his fifth straight Driver’s Championship.

This is the 24th edition of the Singapore Grand Prix. It debuted as a Formula 1 race in 1966, with two absences between 1974-2007 and 2020-2021. Norris won last year’s race. Lewis Hamilton has four Singapore Grand Prix wins, just one off the record held by Sebastian Vettel.

George Russell is on the pole for the second time this season. He looks to turn that into his second win of the season and keep pace with the three drivers ahead of him in the standings.
