Auxerre is looking dumbstruck and in a battle to regain any Ligue 1 momentum at home to Brest. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

Four losses in a row and counting has Auxerre spiralling down Ligue 1’s ranks as the team prepares to welcome Brest to the Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps on Friday. Following on from an impressive opening-day win over Nice, Christophe Pelissier may soon find himself in a fight to preserve his place at the Auxerre helm unless things improve—and fast. Brest boss Eric Roy has already stumbled on a resurgence, it seems, and has his side on the up after a concerning start to the campaign as Les Pirates go in search of their third consecutive win in all competitions.

Hopes will be high that Brest could be on the brink of its first away win of the season after coming up short on the road to heavy hitters like Paris Saint-Germain and Lens.

Roy & Co have won three successive home games and most recently bested Toulouse 2-0 on Sunday, but their form outside the west coast has looked anything but as reliable.

Abdallah Sima’s goal recently helped Brest clinch its maiden win in the Champions League, downing Austrian side Sturm Graz to get off the mark in Europe at the first opportunity:

Auxerre is back in the top flight after gaining promotion as Ligue 2 champion earlier this year, meaning this will be its first meeting with Brest since May 2023.

The tale of the tape doesn’t make for fine reading in this fixture from the host’s point of view, having failed to beat Brest in its last six encounters.

A late leveller from M’Baye Niang did help the central side see out a 1-1 draw when it last hosted this opponent in October 2022, but it’s a concern that Brest has only improved since then.

    Regional restrictions may apply.
