Lille can leapfrog Marseille in the Ligue 1 standings with a home win on Sunday. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

After four straight defeats on the road, Marseille hopes to stop the rot at Lille on Sunday as it desperately attempts to cling onto its top-three status in Ligue 1. Les Olympiens have enjoyed a bump in form of late and recently won back-to-back matches for the first time since early February, but that resurgence is at serious risk of ending all too quickly against a Lille side that has won the last four times it has hosted this fixture. Defeat at the Decathlon Arena could see Roberto De Zerbi’s side slip as far as fourth as France’s top-flight campaign comes to a mighty crescendo.

It’s rare that meetings between Lille and Marseille don’t comprise at least some fireworks, with three of the last four encounters between the pair ending all square.

Lille drew blood last in this head-to-head after edging a penalty shootout to advance in the Coupe de France, and four of the last seven goals in this rivalry have been scored in the 81st minute or later.

Marseille made it successive wins after hammering Brest 4-1 last weekend, where Amine Gouiri made all the difference thanks to his hat-trick at the Velodrome:

However, De Zerbi’s side have looked a shadow of their former selves on the road during this second half of the campaign, going from one of France’s best travelling teams to one of its worst.

Lille, meanwhile, remains one of the most intimidating hosts in Ligue 1, with only three teams (newly crowned champion PSG, Nice and Auxerre) leaking fewer goals in front of their own fans.

Brooklyn-born Jonathan David is striving to regain his top form after managing to hit the back of the net in only one of his last six league outings, with the Canada star tipped for a high-profile move this summer.
