Unbeaten in its first five matches to start the 2024-25 Ligue 1 campaign, defending champion Paris Saint-Germain returns home to Parc des Princes today in search of its third consecutive home win as State Rennais goes for its second road win at PSG since 2018. Both of Les Rennals’ victories this season have come by 3-0 score lines having defeated Lyon in the season opener and then beating Montpellier two Sundays ago, but have yet to secure a point in either of its first two away matches this season. After the departure of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, PSG has not skipped a beat behind the goal-scoring prowess of Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé who have each tallied four goals in the first five matches. Barcola has already equaled his scoring output from last season but has been held without a goal in his last two matches. The 22-year-old winger from Villeurbanne started his career with Lyon before joining PSG last summer.

Les Parisiens lead the league with 17 goals scored through five matches and are one of only three teams with 14 or more goals.

Arnaud Kalimuendo has a goal in two consecutive matches for Stade Rennais, spurring the current unbeaten streak. Kalimuendo began his professional career with PSG appearing in three matches before spending two seasons on loan to Lens where he scored 19 goals.

Rennais recorded a win at Parc des Princes in March of 2023 by a 2-0 score with Kalimuendo netting a second-half goal three minutes into the second half.
