In an American League matchup on Monday, the Toronto Blue Jays (12-10) travel to Kauffman Stadium to take on the Kansas City Royals (13-9). For Toronto, this game begins the second series of a seven game road trip. Over the weekend the Blue Jays were in Southern California taking on the San Diego Padres for a three-game set. They won the first two by scores of 5-1 and 5-2, before losing 6-3 in the season finale on Sunday.

That was the fourth series win in a row for the Blue Jays. They previously took two of three games from the Yankees, Rockies, and Mariners over the past few weeks.
The Royals were at home over the weekend, hosting the Baltimore Orioles. They won the first game of the series, then dropped the last two.
Both starters in Monday’s game have got off to strong starts this season. Toronto lefty Yusei Kikuchi is 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 21.2 innings over four starts. Righty Brady Singer of the Royals is 2-0 in four starts with a 1.54 ERA and 0.86 WHIP.
