The PGA Tour’s 2nd Signature Event of the season tees off in Pebble Beach, California, on Thursday, continues through Sunday.

Professionals and amateurs will tee it up Thursday and Friday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, with play set for both the Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course, before the pros take center stage on the weekend for the final two rounds at Pebble Beach. It is the second Signature Event on the PGA Tour schedule, carrying a $20 million purse with a $3.6 million prize and a boosted 700 FedExCup points for the winner. Wyndham Clark is the defending champion from last year’s rain-shortened event.

While amateur play is not featured the way it once was, luminaries such as Condoleeza Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, Pau Gasol, Mia Hamm and Steve Young will be part of the first two days of play. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns to competition this week after recovering from a hand injury sustained during a Christmas Day accident.

Jordan Spieth makes his first start since August after undergoing surgery to repair damage to the ulnar nerve in his left wrist. Rory McIlroy is in the field this week, just the fifth time in 15 years he’s played at Pebble Beach and just the third for the Pro-Am.

An additional 12 players were added to the Pebble Beach field to reach the 80-player threshold, creating opportunities for golfers outside the normal signature event qualification criteria. Other Signature Events have 72-player fields, forcing the need to go beyond the usual exemtpion categories — the top 50 in the FedExCup, the Next 10 from FedExCup Fall, the Swing 5 (the top FedExCup points earners from the Sony Open, The American Express and Farmers Insurance Open) and the top 30 of the Official World Golf Ranking.

Regional restrictions may apply.
