The cut will be made Saturday morning as Justin Lower held a 2-shot lead when 2nd-round play was suspended

Justin Lower shot his second straight 65 on Friday, improving to 12-under-par and holds a two-shot lead in the clubhouse with 15 players remaining on the course when play was suspended due to darkness. Lower shook off a bogey at the par-four ninth, rolling in three straight birdies on Nos. 12-14 as he chases his first career PGA Tour win. Lower finished in a second-place tie at last week’s World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico, finishing one shot in back of Austin Eckroat to move from 95th to 74th on the FedExCup Fall standings.

A victory would jump Lower to the top of the FedExCup Fall standings and put him in position to earn entry into next year’s first two Signature events, the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational. Players who finish 51st through 60th get those spots and Lower projects to move all the way up to 51st with a win.

Robby Shelton shot a 64 on Friday and shares second place with Ryan Moore at 10-under-par. Sam Ryder’s 62 put him at nine-under along with Kevin Kisner, with four players tied for sixth at eight-under par, with David Lipsky, Matti Schmid and Francesco Molinari already in the clubhouse, while Greyson Sigg has two holes to finish on Saturday morning.

Ten players are tied for 10th, five shots behind Lower. Defending champion Camilo Villegas fired a three-under-par 68 on Friday and is tied for 60th at two-under. The winner on Sunday claims the $1.242 million top prize from the $6.9 million purse.
