Struggling Peter Malnati returns to Innisbrook to defend his Valspar Championship title this weekend. Watch for free on Fubo.

After premiere events each of the last two weeks, the PGA Tour returns to full-field events the next three weeks in the ramp up to next month’s Masters Tournament. The Valspar Championship tees off on Thursday on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida, with defending champion Peter Malnati looking for a turnaround. He’s made just three cuts in eight events this year with his best finish a tie for 49th at the Phoenix Open last month. Malnati miss the cut at The Players Championship last week and has just $88,786 in winnings so far in 2025.

Xander Schauffele, the No. 3 player on the Official World Golf Ranking, will play for the third straight week after finishing last among players who made the cut at The Players. Schauffele is fighting his way back from an offseason rib injury and will be the highest-ranked player at Innisbrook this week.

The OWGR is on the minds of players not already qualified for the Masters, with the next two weeks to determine the top-50 exemption for the season’s first major. On the bubble right now are Daniel Berger (No. 41) along with Stephan Jaeger (44), Ben Griffin (52), Michael Kim (53), Alex Noren (60), Si Woo Kim (63), Eric Cole (66), Mackenzie Hughes (67), Patrick Rodgers (69) and Max McGreevy (73). Of course, a win in either of the next two events solves that problem.

The Valspar Championship offers a tournament-record $8.7 million purse, with the winner earning $1.566 million and 500 FedExCup points. Former winners of the event in the field include Taylor Moore (2023), two-time winner Sam Burns (2021-22), Adam Hadwin (2018), Jordan Spieth (2015) and Luke Donald (2012).
