The fifth signature event of the 2024 PGA Tour season swings into Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for the 55th edition of the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links where Matt Fitzpatrick aims to repeat as champion. As a signature event, the prize purse for this week sits at $20 million with $3.6 million and 500 FedEx Cup points going to the winner as 70 of the world’s best golfers, including Masters Champion and World number one ranked Scottie Scheffler who is paired with 2022 winner of this event Jordan Spieth as well as 2020 champion Webb Simpson, 2022 runner up Patrick Cantlay and runner up at last week’s Masters Tournament Ludvig Åberg.

Last year, Matt Fitzpatrick beat defending champion Jordan Spieth in a three-hole sudden death playoff to take home his second career PGA Tour victory just ten months after winning the 2022 U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. Fitzpatrick carded four rounds under 70 en route to a fifth place finish at the THE PLAYERS Championship in mid-March before a top-10 finish at the Valero Texas Open and a T-22 in Augusta last week.

The Pete Dye designed Harbour Town Golf Links is a 7,191-yard Par 71 course that has plaed host to this event since its inception in 1969.

Both of the last two tournaments and three of the last six events have ended in a playoff.
