On Saturday, they will face off against Saint Mary’s at the University Credit Union Pavilion. The Saint Mary’s Gaels are 19-3 overall this season heading into this weekend. All three of their losses were against non-conference teams, as they are a perfect 9-0 and undefeated in conference play. They hold a two-game lead over their opponent in this game, the next closest team in the conference.

They came out of a lossless January with two wins against Washington State on the road by five points, led by a 25-point game-high from Paulius Murauskas on 9-of-15 shooting. Earlier this week, they dominated Santa Clara on the road by 13 points on Wednesday. Mitchell Saxen led Saint Mary’s with only 12 points, despite the big win.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs, typically the best team in the WCC, is 16-6 overall this season and 7-2 against teams in the conference, two games back from their opponent. Last weekend, Gonzaga went on the road after losing by four points to Santa Clara after losing on the road to Oregon State in the same week.

They bounced back with two wins to end the month with a 43-point win over Portland on the road. Ben Gregg dropped 24 points in a game-high and a perfect 10-for-10 shooting on the night. Despite losing to Oregon State by eight points in overtime, they ended January with a 38-point win over that team at home. Khalif Battle scored 23 points to lead the team on 12-of-13 from the free throw line after making just four field goals.
