Top-seeded Columbus takes on Wasatch Academy in a quarterfinal matchup from the Chipotle Nationals on Thursday.

Miami Columbus (27-3) earned the No. 1 seed for the Chipotle Nationals and opens play in the tournament on Thursday in a quarterfinal against ninth-seeded Wasatch Academy (26-4) from Mt. Pleasant, Utah, at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana. The Explorers rolled through seven games to win the Florida 7A state title, defeating their opponents in the tournament by an average of 41.4 points per game. The Tigers eliminated IMG Academy of Bradenton, Florida, in an opening-round game from the Nationals on Wednesday night.

Wasatch Academy led most of the way on Wednesday while beating IMG Academy 75-57 to advance to the quarterfinals. Five Tigers scored in double figures, led by Mariano Manciel’s 17 points while Isiah Harwell added 15 points and Adolph County finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Harwell, a shooting guard from Pocatello, Idaho, signed with Houston and is No. 13 on the ESPN 100 for this year’s senior class.

Columbus wrapped up its fourth consecutive Florida 7A state championship on March 8 with a 68-36 thumping of Windermere, opening the game with an 11-0 run and never looking back. Cameron Boozer finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots in a little more than 20 minutes and Jaxon Richardson scored 14 points to go with six blocks. Power forward Cameron Boozer, signed with Duke, is the No. 3 prospect on the ESPN 100 while twin brother and point guard Cayden Boozer, also Duke bound, is No. 16. They are the sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer.

Katrell Harmon, a junior shooting guard from Seattle that plays at Wasatch Academy, is part of the ESPN 60, while the Crusaders have two players on that list, power forward Caleb Gaskins at No. 7 and Richardson, a small forward, at No. 13.
