The upsets kept rolling in for third-seeded Benet Academy (32-5) who picked up back-to-back wins against top-seeds in the playoffs to get to the IHSA Class 4A Tournament Championship Game. The Redwings entered the tournament ranked third in Illinois and 74th in the country, but are just a third-seed in this tournament. They will now face off with second-seeded Warren Township (27-10) for the right to be called state champions in Illinois. The Blue Devils ended the regular season ranked 10th in the state making this a top 10 matchup for the IHSA Class 4A Tournament Championship

The path to this game for the Redwings started with a win over fourth-seed Downers Grove North (44-32) in the Sectional Finals and Quincy (58-50) in the Super-Sectionals. Then they took down top-seed Evanston (56-47) in the State Semifinals in another competitive game. Overall during the Super Sixteen the Redwings have strong winning three competitive games.
For the Blue Devils in the Super Sixteen this season they have been much more declarative with their wins. They beat top-seed Waukegan (70-60), second-seed Rolling Meadows (60-48) and Rich Township (66-49) to punch their ticket.
This is the first meeting this season between the Redwings and the Blue Devils. With both teams ranked in the top 10 overall in the state and rolling, 11 straight wins for the Redwings and seven for the Blue Devils, this is setting up to be a classic for the IHSA Class 4A Tournament Championship.
