Heading into the second semifinal of the IHSA Class 4A Tournament both second-seeded Warren Township (26-10) and Rich Township (26-8) are rolling. Both teams riding winning streaks. They also upset a top-seeded team in their section of the bracket to get to the state semifinals. This is the first game of the season between the Blue Devils and the Raptors who are both playing as well as any team in the state right now. The winner here will face-off with the winner of the first semifinal between top-seeded Evanston and third-seeded Benet Academy for the IHSA Class 4A Tournament Championship.

The Raptors are coming off a massive upset over top-seeded Kenwood who was also the top ranked team in the state. They needed overtime to survive and advance in a 70-65 win where they trailed by five points at the half.

On the other side for the Blue Devils they beat second-seeded Rolling Meadows (60-48) in the last round after taking down top-seeded Waukegan (70-60). They have stepped up in the playoffs winning both games by double-figures. The Blue Devils have won six straight games by an average of 18.0 points per game.

For the Raptors the last six games leading to the semifinals have been much more competitive. They have won two games in overtime and the last five by an average of just 8.8 points per game.
