Wayne County will head on the road this week in high school football to take on Richmond Hill under Friday night lights. The Yellow Jackets of Wayne County in Jesup, Georgia, are 0-4 this season already in four non-regional contests. They opened up their season with a 16-10 loss at home against Glynn Academy. They followed it up with a 49-7 loss against Brunswick before heading on the road for the first time this season. They didn’t do much better there getting shut out 34-0 against Appling County. They came back home last week and lost 35-0 to Pierce County. There has been nothing going on offensively for Wayne County this season as just two touchdowns have been scored with one field goal in four games. The defense hasn’t been something to celebrate either giving up an average of 30 points per game. Both sides of the ball will need adjustments as the team heads to on the road again.

The Wildcats will be no easy opponent either as they sit 3-0 this season in non-regional games to start. In their only similar opponent, they took down Glynn Academy on the road beating them 31-12 in the team’s first game of the season. They followed it up with a home win against Everglades in a massive 45-0 shutout.
their last game ended in a 47-28 win against New Hampstead on the road as well. Running back Joshua Troupe leads the team in total touchdowns this season with seven followed by swiss-army knife Caleb Eaterling who has spent time at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver in 2024.
