Stillwater Area, the No. 2 seed in its first Minnesota Class AA tournament bid since 2016, takes on Andover on Thursday in boys high school hockey.

Stillwater Area (22-6-0) earned the No. 2 seed at the Minnesota Class AA tournament and will take on seventh-seeded Andover (15-13-0) in a quarterfinal matchup at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Thursday morning. The Ponies knocked off top-seeded Hill-Murray School on Friday to win the Section 4AA crown, getting back to the state tournament for the first time since 2016 and just the third time in program history. The Huskies were the No. 3 seed in Section 7AA, but took out both of the top two seeds to capture the Section 7AA title. Andover is back at state for the fifth time after a four-year run from 2020-23 that included the 2022 state championship.
