Ohio high school softball features a matchup between the Edison Wildcats and Indian Creek Redskins on Thursday.
For the second time this season Indian Creek (6-10) takes on Edison (7-8) in Ohio high school softball action on Thursday. The first time the teams played was earlier in the season as both teams were knocking off the rust of the offseason. This time around both the Redskins and the Wildcats are more than halfway through the season. In the first meeting the Redskins won 8-5, built on a monster fourth inning. Before the fourth inning flurry of runs the Wildcats held a 2-1 lead and were mostly in control of the game. Then the Redskins ran through the Wildcats with one of the best innings of the season by any team in high school softball.

The Redskins scored six runs in the fourth inning to open up the game. After the fourth inning the Redskins led 7-3, giving it just enough of a cushion to hold on for the 8-5 win early in the season.
Since that win the Redskins have gone just 5-9 overall. During this 14 game stretch they are averaging 8.7 runs per game while allowing just 8.2 to opponents. Over the last four games they have struggled and have been outscored 34-10 overall.
For the Wildcats, they have won back-to-back games to inch closer to .500 this season. They have outscored opponents 18-11 in the two wins. This is the first time this season the Wildcats have won back-to-back games since very early in the schedule. Their last game was cancelled.
