No. 8 Colorado College returns from the New Year’s break on Friday to being a two-game non-conference weekend series against Augustana (S.D.).

This weekend, No. 8 Colorado College (10-5-1, 4-3-1 NCHC) returns from the New Year’s break with a pair of home games on Friday and Saturday. While this is the Tigers’ first game back, they still have one more weekend before returning to conference play. In their final non-conference games of the regular season, they’ll host Augustana (S.D.) (10-7-1, 5-3-0 CCHA) for a pair of games at Ed Robson Arena starting on Friday night. This is also the Vikings’ first games back from the break.

While this is Colorado College’s first official game back from the break, the Tigers did have a tune up on Sunday. They took on the UNLV club hockey team, and won 8-0.

In their last real action, the Tigers had a rivalry home-and-home weekend against No. 6 Denver. Colorado College won the home game 5-4 in that one before losing the next game 2-1.

Through the first half of the season, graduate defenseman Ty Gallagher leads the Tigers in points. He has 12 points in 16 games.

Augustana’s last games came on Dec. 12 and 13 on the road at Alaska Anchorage. That series featured a 2-2 tie and 3-2 win for the Vikings.

Senior forward Payton Matsui is the Vikings’ offensive leader. He has 15 points in 18 games, including a team-high 11 assists. Senior forward Luke Mobley leads the team seven goals so far this season.
