In and NCHC matchup on Friday night, Colorado College visits St. Cloud State in the first of two games between the two teams this weekend.

On Friday night, No. 20 Colorado College (16-13-1, 10-9-1 NCHC) is on the road taking on St. Cloud State (11-16-1, 4-13-1 NCHC) in and NCHC matchup at Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. It’s the first of a weekend double header between the schools this weekend. Both teams have just four games left after this one before the conference tournament begins, making these games key for what the seeding will ultimately be once the postseason begins.

Colorado College, in particular, has plenty of room to move over these last three weeks. Coming into the weekend the Tigers sit in sixth place in the conference standings with 29 standings points. However they’re just two-point behind No. 17 North Dakota, which sits in fourth place. Catching the Fighting Hawks would be significant, as the top four teams get home-ice advantage in the first round of the conference tournament.

Last weekend the Tigers faced Miami (OH) and swept the weekend with wins of 6-1 and 5-4 at home. Overall the Tigers have won four of their last five games.

St. Cloud State was on the road last week against No. 3 Western Michigan. The Huskies lost both of those games by scores of 6-1 and 4-0.

Colorado College and St. Cloud State already played one series against each other this year, in Colorado Springs back in late November. They split the two games with St. Cloud State getting a 3-2 win in regulation and the Tigers getting a 1-0 win in overtime.
