The team started the month with a two-game series against Roosevelt University. Illinois came away with a 6-2 victory in game one at UI Ice Arena on Oct. 4. Then, the Fighting Illini won again 5-3 at Edge Ice Arena the following day on Oct. 5. Illinois hoped to use that momentum in the program’s series against Purdue University Northwest, but ended up falling in both games 4-2 and 2-0 on Oct. 11 and 12 respectively.

The scoreline doubled in game two of the two-game series, where the University of Jamestown came away with a 10-2 thrashing at John L. Wilson Arena on Oct. 19.

Finally, in the last series of the month, Illinois went up against the University of Toledo. This time, both matches were to be played at home at UI Ice Arena.

The first game saw the Fighting Illini come away with a narrow 4-3 finish over Toledo on Oct. 25. Then, Illinois took another 5-1 finish the following day to cap the month of October off with a pair of wins at home.
