The Arizona State Sun Devils face off against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks on Saturday night in the series finale. The Sun Devils won their eighth straight game on Friday night when they beat the Fighting Hawks 4-1. Bennett Schimek opened the scoring at 8:32 of the first period and then Brasen Boser made it a two-goal lead at 18:44 of the first period. The Fighting Hawks cut the lead to one in the second period, but Artem Shlaine and Kyle Smolen scored in the third period to put the game away. The win pushed the Sun Devils record to 11-7-1 overall and 6-3 in conference play. Their winning streak has included two wins over No. 1 Denver, two against Minnesota Duluth and a shutout against No. 16 Cornell. It has been an impressive run for the Sun Devils and Saturday they will look to stay hot and pick up another huge sweep.

The Fighting Hawks, though, are looking to avenge the loss from Friday as they try and earn a series split with the Sun Devils.

The loss on Friday night snapped a four-game winning streak for the Fighting Hawks and dropped their record to 11-8-1 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

The Fighting Hawks will head back home next weekend to take on the Western Michigan Broncos, but first want to get a big win on Saturday night.

Sacha Boisvert has been the team’s top scorer this season with eight goals and 17 points. Jake Livanavage and Owen McLaughlin are tied for the team lead with 12 assists.
