No. 6 Denver hosts No. 17 North Dakota in the second leg of a back-to-back on Saturday night.

After playing the first leg of a back-to-back in Colorado on Friday night, No. 6 Denver hosts No. 17 North Dakota at Magness Arena on Saturday. Following a win over North Dakota in the first meeting this weekend, sixth-ranked Denver is now 21-7-1 on the season with a 10-6-1 conference record and a 11-2-1 record at home this season. Denver’s attempt to win both games over North Dakota comes after splitting a road series at No. 12 Arizona State last weekend. North Dakota, on the other hand, is 14-12-2 with a 9-7-1 record in conference play and a 7-6-1 road record. Denver has won three consecutive games over North Dakota, bringing the series to 159-138-16 in favor of the Hawks.

Buckberger scored a goal and tallied two assists, with Jack Devine scoring twice and Kieran Cebrian adding the fourth goal.

The Pioneers goaltenders stopped all 21 shots by North Dakota, including killing off two Fighting Hawks power plays. The game was scoreless for the opening 34 minutes, but the dam broke when Cebrian and Buckberger scored three minutes apart in the second period.
