Friday night’s slate in the AHA includes a conference tournament rematch from last year, with RIT (3-13-1, 2-7-1) hosting Robert Morris (5-6-2, 2-4-1) at the Gene Polisseni Center The last time these two teams met was in the postseason last year, when top seed RIT hosted No. 11 seed Robert Morris in the best of three quarterfinals round. RIT won that matchup in two games, with wins of 7-0 and 5-1. The Tigers would go on to win the conference tournament.

Coming into the first matchup this year – the first of two games between the teams this weekend – RIT is trying to climb back up the conference standings. The Tigers are off to a slower start this year, but did manage to pick up a point in their last conference series two weeks ago when they tied Sacred Heart 3-3.

This is also a short week for the Tigers. They had a solo midweek conference game on Tuesday at home taking on Canisius. The Tigers dropped that game 6-4. For RIT, this is the final weekend of games before the holiday break.

Robert Morris last played last weekend and split a pair of games at home against American International. The Colonials won the first game 4-1 on Friday, then fell 4-2 on Saturday.
