The Bears also opened ECAC Hockey action last weekend, claiming four points with a win and an overtime loss. The Big Red has played in the last three NCAA tournaments and won the last two ECAC Hockey tournaments, last reaching the Frozen Four in 2003. Brown hasn’t gone to the NCAA tourney since 1993.

Cornell opened conference play with a 3-1 win at Harvard on Nov. 7 before taking a 2-1 loss at Dartmouth on Saturday night. Giovanni DiGiulian has three goals in the first four games and shares the team lead of three points with Charlie Major. Jonathan Castagna has a pair of markers in the early going. Alexis Cournoyer is 2-1-0 in three starts with a .956 save percentage and 1.35 goals-against average.

The Bears also earned a split last weekend, playing at home, beating Princeton 2-1 on Nov. 7 before losing in overtime to then-No. 5 Quinnipiac after skating to a 3-3 tie in regulation. Ryan St. Louis is the team’s only multiple-goal scorer with two and with three points shares the squad lead with Brian Nicholas. Tyler Shea has played in all four games in goal, starting three, and is 1-3-0 with a .944 save percentage and 1.81 GAA.

The Big Red comes into Friday night with six straight wins over Brown, including a two-game sweep last season that included a 3-1 victory at home on Nov. 9, 2024, and a 6-1 romp on the road on Feb. 14. Cornell leads the all-time series 89-44-8.
